CARPET DIEM PARIS
[ Unique exhibition of contemporary textile artworks during Art Basel Paris & Paris Art Week ]The carpet SOFTWARE // HARDWARE is part of the textile collection with the same name.
It explores the weaving structure of twill and how it can be translated from a virtual woven leather sample into a tactile simulation using tufted wool.
A central part of the project is the relationship between digital design and traditional craftsmanship. The irregularities and tactile qualities of physical materials meet the smooth, almost perfect surfaces of the digital world. Reflective yarns catch the light, adding a sense of depth and connecting the textiles to the luminous qualities of digital surfaces.
