SOFTWARE // HARDWARE

[ Textile Collection II ]

[ 2x3m Carpet for Carpet Diem in Paris ]

The textile collection SOFTWARE // HARDWARE explores the weaving structure of twill and how it can be translated into different materials and techniques. The process starts directly from the textile itself, looking at its structure, texture, construction details, and material qualities. These characteristics become the starting point for both physical experiments and digital designs. A textile can inspire a digital image, while a virtual surface can later be brought back into the physical world.

The collection brings together tufted wool carpets, woven leather pieces, and digitally created textile images. Black and silver leather, reflective yarns, and crochet edges are combined to explore the interaction between different materials and techniques. The samples developed along the way are also part of the collection, showing the experiments and ideas behind the final pieces.

A central part of the project is the relationship between digital design and traditional craftsmanship. The irregularities and tactile qualities of physical materials meet the smooth, almost perfect surfaces of the digital world. Reflective yarns catch the light, adding a sense of depth and connecting the textiles to the luminous qualities of digital surfaces. The exchange between these two worlds creates space for experimentation, allowing materials and techniques to influence and transform one another.

The collection exists somewhere between object and image, craftsmanship and technology, and design and art.
